چکیده

Abstract Many porphyry molybdenum deposits are hosted in multi-phase plutons, but it is unclear some how these magmas originated and whether the pluton intruded as fractionated or was by new batches of magma. New mapping has clarified field relationships between units White Pine Mo system Little Cottonwood stock, Utah (western United States), including intrusion, Red porphyry, rhyolite dikes, phreatomagmatic pebble dikes. Geologic relations geochemistry show formed a continental arc setting during rollback subducting Farallon slab rather than extension related to orogenic collapse. Whole-rock shows distinct fractionation trends for each major intrusive composite pluton, suggesting they separately, which supported U-Pb zircon laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) ages ca. 30 Ma 27 26 previously undated porphyry. Mineral textures, cross-cutting relationships, alteration mineralogy indicate that intrusion youngest phase led fluid-saturated magmatic triggered venting, emplacement In adjacent east Traverse Mountains, dikes contain clasts have similar mineral assemblages, igneous deposit. This indicates Mountains upper lower parts same magmatic-hydrothermal system, decapitated mega-landslide likely facilitated Oligocene hydrothermal later Basin Range faulting.

Plumbing the depths – testing natural tracers of subsurface CO2 origin and migration, Utah, USA

The effective geological storage of liquid CO2 in porous subsurface rock will require the ability to track, and identify the origin of, any CO2 seepage measured at the near-surface. In a study relevant to postemplacement seepage, we examine natural CO2 springs around Green River, on the Colorado Plateau USA, in an attempt to determine the CO2 origins. We use a combination of natural geochemical...

Analysis of The Educational System of Nursing PhD in Iran and College of Nursing in Salt Lake City, UTAH (USA)

Introduction: The expectations of nursing PhD graduates are very wide and complex. Studies show the inadequacy of graduates in playing their role, especially in reforming the health system and solving nursing problems. This important issue seems to be related to the design and implementation of the curriculum and its incompatibility with the work environment. The purpose of this study was to co...

Evaluating remediation alternatives for mine drainage, Little Cottonwood Creek, Utah, USA

The vast occurrence of mine drainage worldwide, documented in descriptive studies, presents a staggering challenge for remediation. Any tool that can move beyond descriptive study and helps to evaluate options for remediation in a way that maximizes improvements to the water quality of streams and minimizes cost of remediation could save valuable resources and time. A reactive solute transport ...
